Agentic Protocols Adapted for Hospitality: Practical Guide by AIHA

Free industry resource from AI Hospitality Alliance that helps hospitality teams connect AI agents to hotel systems with clear controls and implementation guidance

Protocols at a glance: AI Hospitality Alliance guide to agentic protocols

The AI Hospitality Alliance (AIHA) today announced the publication of Agentic Protocols Adapted for Hospitality, a free guide connecting protocol choices to more than 100 hospitality AI use cases.

The publication advances AIHA’s mission to help hospitality shape its own AI future through shared knowledge, practical resources and collaboration across the industry. It complements the Alliance’s Hospitality AI Governance Framework, which addresses accountability, oversight and responsible AI adoption.

For hospitality, the next phase of AI raises questions that go beyond the quality of a chatbot’s answers. When software can act on a guest’s or hotel’s behalf, organizations need to understand what it may do, which systems it can access and who remains accountable. These decisions connect technology directly to the guest relationship and the hotel’s operations.

“Hospitality has an opportunity to help shape how AI works in our industry,” said Ira Vouk, Founder of the AI Hospitality Alliance. “That takes more than enthusiasm. It takes people willing to share their expertise and turn complex questions into practical guidance. This publication is another meaningful step in building that foundation together.”

Five Steps Toward Practical Implementation

The guide outlines five steps:

  1. Select an integration suited to the workflow.
  2. Match capabilities with implementation safeguards.
  3. Establish identity, authority and evidence.
  4. Plan safe execution and recovery.
  5. Test the integration and examine supporting evidence.

Designed primarily for hotel and vendor technical teams, it also supports discussions with business leaders. A downloadable workbook helps teams document integration choices, responsibilities, acceptance tests and evidence.

“The strength of this work comes from the people behind it,” Vouk added. “Different perspectives make the questions sharper and the work stronger. I am proud of what this team has contributed, and grateful that we can make it available to the industry free of charge.”
