FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SAN DIEGO, CA – September 21, 2026 – The AI Hospitality Alliance, in partnership with HEDNA, today announced the launch of the Hospitality AI Use Case Catalogue, the industry's first comprehensive, crowdsourced initiative to map how artificial intelligence is being used across hospitality.

The project received 198 industry submissions. Following review and deduplication, the findings were consolidated into 109 unique AI use cases spanning 39 hotel systems.
For an industry frequently asking, "How can we actually use AI in our operations?" the catalogue offers a practical and comprehensive answer.
"Hospitality has been discussing the potential of AI for years, but the conversation has often remained abstract," said Ira Vouk, Founder of the AI Hospitality Alliance. "This catalogue makes AI tangible. It gives hoteliers a clear view of where AI is already being applied, what opportunities exist across the technology stack, and which use cases they should investigate for their own organizations."
What the catalogue covers
The interactive map organizes AI applications across five core hotel functions:
- Guest Experience
- Revenue Management and Business Intelligence
- Operations
- Distribution and Commerce
- Marketing and Sales
It also includes three cross-cutting layers:
- Payments and Transaction Infrastructure
- Data, Middleware, Semantic and Agent Infrastructure
- Hotel Development, Asset and Investment Intelligence
Users can select any system on the map to explore the related use cases. A density toggle shows how many use cases were identified for each system, making it easy to see where industry activity is concentrated and where opportunities may remain underexplored.
How the catalogue is organized
The full catalogue provides additional details about each use case, including its primary beneficiary, adoption maturity, supporting evidence and cross-functional reach. Use cases are organized by category and ranked using a hotelier evaluation-priority score designed to help hospitality organizations determine what to investigate first. The score is not intended to measure realized ROI, vendor quality or market share.
The knowledge base will continue to evolve
Hospitality professionals, operators, vendors, academics and other contributors are invited to submit additional use cases that may be missing.
Technology providers may also submit their companies for consideration as examples of solutions supporting specific use cases identified in the catalogue.
Both the interactive map and the complete catalogue are available to the industry free of charge, consistent with the AI Hospitality Alliance's mission to make practical AI education, research and resources broadly accessible.
